On the coast of Oaxaca where the Sierra Madre del Sur meet the Pacific Ocean sits the tranquil, peaceful, quiet village of San Agustinillo, Oaxaca. Approximately an hours drive from Huatulco and an hours drive from Puerto Escondido. There are about 300 residents in the quaint little fishing village.
The town boasts a non-profit library, La Biblioteca de San Agustinillo, located in the Casa Municipal with books in several languages. Adjacent to the library is The Michelle Collins Wood Computer Center. There are many fishing, sightseeing and snorkeling excursions available. There is hiking , many locations for birding, a turtle museum in the next town and a lagoon, Ventanilla with horseback riding excursions near by. Oh and not to mention the beach and all of the great restaurants on the beach, where you can pull up a chair, order a drink and read or just watch the surf wash up on the shore. In the late afternoon many surfers gather at the east end of the beach to catch the waves. |
